Our Mission
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to help equip children in need with the tools they need to confidently pursue their dreams and create a brighter future for themselves, their families and their communities.
Our Story
Every summer for over 5 years, high school senior, Tianne Luke, helped her mom and grandmother shop for backpacks, lunch bags and school supplies to donate to kids in need. In the winter, they would do the same, shopping for winter gear like hats, scarves, gloves, and toy mountain gifts for charities.
After being involved in her school’s student council, a peer tutor and a member of many clubs, Tianne started listening to the stories of kids at school and the difficulties they faced in having access to basic needs like clothing, shoes, good meals and hygiene products. She started thinking about how she could help even more people.
This question inspired her to start ‘Pack It Forward’, a youth-run Non-Profit Organization, that is joining forces with DDSB’s Ignite Durham Learning Foundation to help provide essentials to youth in Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, and with Up & Up Festivals & Events Not-for-Profit, Mississauga to expand the initiative to communities across Ontario.
With a vision in mind, Tianne worked hard to establish the organization. She dedicated countless hours to research, networked with local organizations, and sought guidance from experienced mentors.
Her commitment and enthusiasm is quickly garnering the support of like-minded individuals and businesses within the community, who recognize the importance of providing youth with basic necessities for their well-being, for they hold the key to a brighter future.
